Half-hour of walk­ing ded­i­cated to health

Work­ers, groups and fam­i­lies will be start­ing a jour­ney to bet­ter health in the Feat­beat walk­ing chal­lenge next week.

The eight-week chal­lenge, which starts on Septem­ber 8, en­cour­ages peo­ple to walk at least 30 min­utes a day by tak­ing a vir­tual jour­ney around Auck­land, New Zealand or the Pa­cific Is­lands.

Teams of four to eight peo­ple earn points along the way and there are prizes for the best story, best photo, best team name, most dis­tance cov­ered by walk­ers and weekly spot prizes.

About 250 teams take part in the Auck­land Re­gional Pub­lic Health Ser­vice’s chal­lenge each year.
