Media internships close soon
Applications for Fairfax Media journalism internships close on September 21.
The date was pushed out by two weeks after feedback from potential applicants.
‘‘The search is the most important part of the intern process and we’re happy to extend it so applicants have more time,’’ Fairfax editorial development manager Clive Lind says.
Fairfax has been running a journalism intern scheme since 2006 and is looking for people who want to work across all media platforms, including social media.
Applicants will need to submit a video up to 90 seconds long via YouTube about themselves saying why they should be selected as trainees. They should also answer the question, ‘‘ What is the future of journalism in the digital world?’
They should preferably have a relevant tertiary qualification though candidates with a minimum qualification of NCEA Level 3 or relevant life skills will be considered.
Applicants need to be citizens or permanent residents of New Zealand and able to demonstrate an absolute passion for news and media. Successful candidates will be invited to meet Fairfax representatives in October in Auckland, Wellington or Christchurch.
