Sea wall fix

Main­te­nance re­pairs to the down­town Auck­land sea wall, be­tween Princes and Queens wharves, are due to fin­ish in Oc­to­ber. The ur­gent $400,000 re­pairs were needed to stop the sea wall from suf­fer­ing fur­ther dam­age. A $40 mil­lion seis­mic up­grade to the sea wall is due to start 2015/16, a coun­cil re­port says.The works need to be done be­cause sec­tions of the wall may fail in a mod­er­ate earth­quake, City Cen­tre In­te­gra­tion Group gen­eral man­ager Rick Walden says.
