A picture is worth a thousand words.

And the Recreate team is hoping its Kingsland photography exhibition tomorrow will speak volumes.

Recreate is a Grey Lynn organisation founded 12 years ago to provide adventure activities for young people with disabilities.

The team now offers more than 200 adventure and educational programmes every year including whitewater rafting, snow caving, mountain climbing and bungy jumping.

Exhibition organiser and programme leader Matt Alpe says the exhibition is a fun way to provide ‘‘visual feedback’’ for participants and their families.

There will also be artwork on display, an interactive installation and talks with the youth involved.

‘‘It’s a great opportunity to share the enjoyment and enthusiasm that their children bring to our activities.

‘‘It also offers families of our participants some quality time together, giving them a chance to socialise, network and share their kids experiences and achievements,’’ he says.

Entry to the exhibition is free and all proceeds from artwork sold will go to Recreate.
