Fire engines, rescue displays and education programmes about disaster preparation are just some of the things on offer at Motat’s Fire and Rescue Day on Sunday.

The event has proved popular in previous years with thousands turning up.

‘‘This is a great opportunity for children and parents to learn about how to stay safe in a disaster situation in a fun, interactive way,’’ Motat chief executive Michael Frawley says.

The fire service has been a major supporter of this event for many years and will mix its fire engines with some of Motat’s vintage fire trucks. Gates open from 10am till 4pm.
