Schools’ fourth round a mixed bag
The fourth round of the Auckland Secondary Schools Premier Cricket brought mixed results for first XI teams across the city last weekend.
A rainy day meant an early end to the King’s College and Auckland Grammar School showdown with time for only one innings before the match was abandoned.
Grammar finished on 192 runs when the rain intervened. St Kentigern College got 251-7 in their defeat of Takapuna Grammar School, who ended on 128 all-out, to remain at the top of the points table for pool A.
Mt Albert Grammar School experienced highs and lows, winning by five wickets against Sacred Heart but later losing to Rangitoto College by six wickets. Mt Albert currently sit at third on the pool B table, trailing Rangitoto and Westlake Boys.
The fifth round will kick off tomorrow with King’s taking on Takapuna while Auckland Grammar will face off against Rosmini College.
