Schools’ fourth round a mixed bag

The fourth round of the Auck­land Sec­ondary Schools Pre­mier Cricket brought mixed re­sults for first XI teams across the city last week­end.

A rainy day meant an early end to the King’s Col­lege and Auck­land Gram­mar School show­down with time for only one innings be­fore the match was aban­doned.

Gram­mar fin­ished on 192 runs when the rain in­ter­vened. St Kentigern Col­lege got 251-7 in their de­feat of Taka­puna Gram­mar School, who ended on 128 all-out, to re­main at the top of the points ta­ble for pool A.

Mt Al­bert Gram­mar School ex­pe­ri­enced highs and lows, win­ning by five wickets against Sa­cred Heart but later los­ing to Ran­gi­toto Col­lege by six wickets. Mt Al­bert cur­rently sit at third on the pool B ta­ble, trail­ing Ran­gi­toto and West­lake Boys.

The fifth round will kick off to­mor­row with King’s tak­ing on Taka­puna while Auck­land Gram­mar will face off against Ros­mini Col­lege.

Mt Al­bert Gram­mar and Avon­dale Col­lege will lock horns and Sa­cred Heart Col­lege will go up against Ma­cleans Col­lege.
