Kings College were defeated by a strong Mt Albert Grammar side at the weekend in high school premier cricket. Despite bowling MAGS out for 85 and Menake Ratnayake returning stunning figures of 5/25, Kings struggled to chase the modest total. Kings were soon in disarray at 45/8 eventually finishing on 69/10. Kings remain at the bottom of the table while MAGS is fourth. In the second tier Auckland Grammar demolished Avondale College, setting a formidable total of 220. Avondale College couldn’t muster any defence, only managing to score 53 runs in reply. Grammar also played Sacred Heart over the weekend and got another win cementing their spot at the top of the second division ladder.
