Jan­uary 26, 2015 for Fred Tay­lor Drive works to re­duce to one lane. Con­struc­tion of the new road in the south­west­ern cor­ner of the West­gate devel­op­ment area be­gan in April 2013. Fin­ish date: 2017 with fur­ther con­nected work in­clud­ing Hob­sonville Point Rd’s per­ma­nent park and ride and to 2020 for starts to the Hob­sonville Rd up­grade con­struc­tion and Brigham Creek Rd widen­ing.

Driv­ers com­plain about the dif­fi­culty of get­ting on to Fred Tay­lor Drive from dif­fer­ent di­rec­tions in­clud­ing the north­west­ern mo­tor­way.

Leigh Webb, Avon­dale In­con­ve­nience fac­tor: 3 – Give me a blood pres­sure pill! (With a shot of vodka!) Webb doesn’t see any progress with road works as part of the West­gate town cen­tre devel­op­ment. ‘‘It hasn’t pro­gressed as far as I can see. It’s a real pain when try­ing to do shop­ping and vis­it­ing fam­ily. Ev­ery­thing is clogged up.’’
