Stay diligent

Auckland City Harbour News - - NEWS -

Auckland’s open fire restrictions are still in place despite rainfall across the region. Fire permits are still needed by those lighting fires outdoors. Permits are free but can take three to five days to issue. Principal rural fire officer Bryan Cartelle says Aucklanders should remain diligent ‘‘even if it may look safe to light a fire’’. Anyone who is suspicious of an open fire or smoke should call the fire service on 111. The prohibited fire season on Hauraki Gulf also remains in place. Go to auckland counralfire for details.
