Grey Lynn is on the money

Auckland City Harbour News - - NEWS -

What do you like best about living in Grey Lynn?

The amenities and sense of community are outstanding.

How long have you lived here and where are you originally from?

I have been living in Auckland for about five years now. I migrated from Christchurch via Wellington.

What do you like least and how can we fix it?

I walked past a kindergarten that was playing Blurred Lines for a dancing session the kids were having. If we started hiring DJs for these dancing sessions I think this wouldn’t happen.

Where’s the best place to buy dinner in your area?

It is hard to go past Fatima’s. They have a suction beam in there or something which makes it very difficult to get past.

And who does the best fish ’n’ chips?

The one from the Fat Freddy’s Drop video down on Ponsonby Rd. I should really know it’s name but the staff are very smiley and the fish is just how I ordered it.

Who is the Kiwi you admire most – and why?

Christian Cullen, I’ve never seen a fullback quite like him and now he has a business website or something. A reconnaissance man if ever I’ve seen one.

If I was Auckland’s mayor I’d . . . Have an anxiety attack. When I’ve got a free few hours I like to . . .

Watch something funny on the internet, read a book, listen to music.

The spot in Auckland I’d recommend to tourists is . . .

One of the best things about Auckland is how easy it is to get out of there and check out a beach or a hill range or a ditch.

Guy Montgomery is leaving politics to the politicians.
