The lack of open space in Al­bertE­den will con­tinue to be a big topic of de­bate in the cen­tral isth­mus. Cur­rent board chair­per­son Peter Haynes has said the area has the low­est lev­els of open space in the Auck­land re­gion, and one of the big­gest short­falls in sports field ca­pac­i­ties.
