TAVA RETAINS SEAT
Vernon Tava has retained his seat on the Waitemata Local Board by 10 votes as a result of the judicial recount. He beat Auckland Future’s Jonathan Good for the final seat on the board by securing 5740 votes to Good’s 5730. Good made the application for the judicial recount to confirm the final results as the votes were so close. Some 20,200 votes were recounted and viewed in the presence of three scrutineers. Tava was officially sworn at the October 28 local board inauguration.
