Man­sons buys valu­able ser­vice sta­tion

Auck­land de­vel­oper Man­sons TCLM has con­firmed it is the buyer of a for­mer Cal­tex ser­vice sta­tion on a prime piece of Auck­land wa­ter­front land.

The com­pany paid Z En­ergy more than $23 mil­lion for the 155-167 Fan­shawe St site - more than four times its $5m value as a ser­vice sta­tion.

Si­t­u­ated op­po­site Vic­to­ria Park, the site will be­come an Down­town shop­ping cen­tre used to be.

Man­sons’ chief ex­ec­u­tive Glen Health said plans for the new of­fice block would go into Auck­land Coun­cil with hopes that con­struc­tion would be­gin later next ness a few months ago.

The nine other sta­tions are still be­ing run on short-term con­tracts and Z said it had not been de­cided whether to sell them, re­brand them un­der Z’s ban­ner or some other so­lu­tion.


Nearby, con­struc­tion is near­ing its end at Wyn­yard Cen­tral, a res­i­den­tial de­vel­op­ment be­ing built by Wil­lis Bond.
