Mansons buys valuable service station
Auckland developer Mansons TCLM has confirmed it is the buyer of a former Caltex service station on a prime piece of Auckland waterfront land.
The company paid Z Energy more than $23 million for the 155-167 Fanshawe St site - more than four times its $5m value as a service station.
Situated opposite Victoria Park, the site will become an Downtown shopping centre used to be.
Mansons’ chief executive Glen Health said plans for the new office block would go into Auckland Council with hopes that construction would begin later next ness a few months ago.
The nine other stations are still being run on short-term contracts and Z said it had not been decided whether to sell them, rebrand them under Z’s banner or some other solution.
Nearby, construction is nearing its end at Wynyard Central, a residential development being built by Willis Bond.
