Auckland motorists were issued with more than 200 infringements in just 15 hours following a wide scale police operation last week. Police called it a very disappointing result. On Wednesday police rolled out the operation across 20 Auckland checkpoints. Of the 220 infringements, more than a third were for either not wearing a seatbelt or using a cellphone while driving. Others were for dangerous driving, speeding, licensing issues and unregistered or unwarranted vehicles.
