Kauri grown from seeds that inspired artist Colin McCahon are available to purchase. The McCahon House Trust are selling 600 limited edition trees for $50 each. Each tree comes with a booklet, recording its unique edition number, along with information about its heritage and how to care for the sapling. Planting kauri helps protect the species’ future, which is currently suffering from kauri dieback disease. Money raised will go towards the work of the

McCahon House Trust and The Kauri Project, which promoteS awareness of kauri dieback. The McCahon House Trust was established as a place for the public to visit and recognise McCahon’s life and art. The trees go on sale at McCahon Kauri Community Day on August 6 from 11am to 4pm at Titirangi War Memorial Hall. Visit mccahonhouse.org.nz/kauri
