ENROLLING MIGRANT COMMUNITIES
Migrant communities and the Electoral Commission are working together to spread the word about getting enrolled and ready to vote in the general election on September 23. The Commission will be connecting with communities throughout the Auckland Regional Migrant Services Trust and the Chinese New Settlers Services Trust. National manager of enrolment and community engagement Mandy Bohte said it was reaching out in various ways. Migrants tended to be less likely to to be enrolled and vote than other voters, she said. People can enroll or update their details by filling in an enrolment form. Forms are available at www.elections.org.nz, PostShops or by texting their name and address to 3676.
