A very Royal Ascot

Australian Women’s Weekly NZ - - ROYALS -

Despite months of fabulous – and exhausting – birthday celebrations, the Queen still had energy to spare to enjoy one of her favourite events of the year, Royal Ascot. In high spirits, Her Majesty attended throughout the racing festival with her family by her side and was regularly greeted with cheers of “Hip, hip hooray!” In a piece of perfect timing, the Queen’s horse, Dartmouth, won the Hardwicke Stakes and it was Princess Beatrice who handed Granny her trophy.

Clockwise from top left: The Queen arriving at Royal Ascot with Prince Philip, Prince Andrew and Prince Harry; the Queen and Sophie,

Countess of Wessex, enjoy the second day at Ascot; receiving her winner’s trophy from Princess Beatrice.
