Don’t get stressed – get smug. It seems busy peo­ple have sharper minds and a more pow­er­ful mem­ory. Sci­en­tists say pack­ing a lot into the day in­creases the op­por­tu­nity to learn new things, stim­u­lat­ing and chal­leng­ing the brain. In a study of 330 healthy men and women aged 50 to 89, a busy life­style was linked to a healthy brain, re­gard­less of age or ed­u­ca­tion level. Those with a packed sched­ule pro­cessed in­for­ma­tion more quickly and had su­pe­rior mem­ory, rea­son­ing and vo­cab­u­lary to those who took it easy, re­ported Fron­tiers in Ag­ing Neu­ro­science.
