Trans­plant toma­toes. Toma­toes need full sun, sturdy wooden stakes and a rea­son­ably shel­tered po­si­tion. Feed with a nitro­gen-rich fer­tiliser un­til the first flow­ers ap­pear, then switch to a potas­sium-rich blend. • Sow an­nual herbs in­clud­ing basil, chervil, co­rian­der, dill and fen­nel. • Sow cu­cum­bers, mel­ons, pump­kins and zuc­chini di­rect. • Sow all types of beans, from bor­lotti to clas­sic Scar­let Run­ners. They’ll ger­mi­nate in 7-10 days.
