• Sow baby Le­banese cu­cum­bers. The va­ri­ety Iznik Mini is su­per-pro­lific, pro­duc­ing up to 100 crisp, ten­der fruit. • Pot up dwarf cherry toma­toes such as Tum­bling Tom and MiniBelle. Feed fort­nightly with liq­uid fer­tiliser, and wa­ter daily when it gets hot­ter. • Sow Gen­ovese Gi­ant basil for pesto – it has the largest leaves. For sal­ads, sow the cute Greek Mini or Mrs Burns Le­mon basil, which has a zesty cit­rus flavour. • Plant and stake grafted egg­plants and mulch around them with saw­dust.
