French author Martin-Lugand has a knack of getting under her characters’ skins and they’re as touchable as the pain and joy this sweet story exudes. The title is the name of the Paris literary café Diane runs with friend Felix. Lawyer husband Colin had always yearned for the family to live in Ireland, with daughter Clara. When a car accident leaves a dying Colin in hospital, begging Diane to stay strong for Clara, the unimaginable has already unfolded. He doesn’t know their daughter died in the ambulance.
