US First Lady Michelle Obama marked her fi­nal days in the White House with a tear­ful pledge to de­vote the rest of her life to Amer­i­can youth. She ap­pealed to young peo­ple to fo­cus on get­ting the best ed­u­ca­tion they can. “For all the young peo­ple in this room and those who are watch­ing, know that this coun­try be­longs to you,” she said, her voice fal­ter­ing dur­ing an emo­tion­ally charged speech. “I will be with you, root­ing for you and work­ing to sup­port you for the rest of my life.”
