Australian Women’s Weekly NZ - - STYLE FILE -

What colours and patterns should I embrace this autumn? I want prints and colours that are on trend but will make me appear slimmer. Can you give me some guidance? Autumn is a wonderful time of the year for fashion. You get to dress up, add layers and certainly have fun with colour, patterns and prints. I’m noticing big, bright colours for the cooler season like military greens, reds of all hues, deep midnight blues and the fabulous pink. As far as patterns, prints and themes go, I’ve seen a lot of glam (vinyl and velvet), opulent fabrics and designs (pleats and shiny fabrics/ materials), patterns with wilderness prints and tartan fabrics of all shades. As a general rule, wear darker colours on your bottom half, lighter colours with embellishments/interest, prints and patterns on top and choose lines and stripes that work vertically, not horizontally, as they draw the eye in, not out. Most of all have fun and own your own style! Follow Ljubenka on Instagram: @holdtheglamour.
