Australian Women’s Weekly NZ - - NEWS - ISABEL ASHMORE

Important advice There were so many salient points raised in the article about Diane Maxwell, “Women need to get tough about money”. What really came through strongly to me was the fact that a lot of women – of all ages but mostly those of mature ages, myself included – leave the financial planning and investing to their husband or partner. Nowadays I think younger professional women, single or married, are more aware of their earnings and what should happen to their money. But Diane Maxwell is right when she says women need to be fiercer about money, and if they don’t understand an explanation by a banker or financial planner, then say so loudly and make sure the gobbledegook of finances is put into plain English! There is a lot of sense in that article, especially the advice on obtaining a Relationship Property Agreement. It is amazing how people going through a break-up can change, with money or assets suddenly becoming an important issue. So I am hoping all women read this article and learn from it as I have. Thank you… this was an excellent read.
