Australian Women’s Weekly NZ - - FILM MAKER -

Plant roses, shrubs, potted perennials... and trellises. Head to the garden centre to find out which natives bloom best in your area at this time of year – every climate and soil is slightly different and a good nursery will know what will flower and thrive. Tend to your vegetable garden, with globe artichokes, asparagus roots, onion seedlings, strawberry plants, currants, raspberries, thornless blackberries, loganberries and passionfruit vines to plant. Root out weeds from flower and vegie gardens now, when they don’t have the strength to fight back. Examine the lawn for weeds and, when you find them, pour boiling water on them, or a quarter cup of sulphate of ammonia to burn them.
