Tips for strawberry season

Only wash your strawberri­es as you go. Strawberri­es absorb moisture like sponges, which means they are more likely to get mushy and spoil. They will last longer if kept dry. Don’t throw away the tops! An entire strawberry is edible, so keep the top of the strawberry (leaves and stem included) for flavouring and infusing things like water and cocktails! If you buy strawberri­es but end up not being able to use them, slice them and put them in the freezer. Frozen strawberri­es are perfect for adding to smoothies or using in baking.
