HONEY OAT SLICE
This is a very simple version of this slice. Feel free to vary it with the addition of sultanas, dried cranberries, chopped almonds or other dried fruit, nuts or seeds.
SERVES 12 PREP AND COOK TIME 25 MINUTES
150g butter, chopped ½ cup (175g) honey 2 eggs, beaten lightly 1½ cups (135g) rolled oats 3/4 cup (110g) self-raising flour 75g dark chocolate, chopped finely
1 Preheat oven to 180°C (160°C fan-forced). Grease and line a 22cm springform pan. 2 In a large microwave-safe bowl, heat the butter and honey together on HIGH POWER for 1 minute or until just melted. Stir in the egg, oats and flour. Spread into the prepared pan and bake for 20 minutes or until lightly golden brown. Cool. 3 Meanwhile, place the chocolate in a small microwave-safe dish. Microwave on MEDIUM POWER for 2 minutes, stirring halfway, or until melted, smooth and glossy 4 Drizzle chocolate over the slice.
Slice suitable to freeze. Not suitable to microwave.
