Blos­som Fes­ti­val in bloom

Spring’s ar­rival prompts the beau­ti­ful cherry blos­som trees in bloom which can be seen through­out the city.

But nowhere are the pink blooms more prom­i­nent than lin­ing the streets in Greer­ton.

Each year, Greer­ton Vil­lage holds its flag­ship event, the Cherry Blos­som Fes­ti­val, bring­ing thou­sands into the quaint vil­lage shop­ping cen­tre.

The fes­ti­val is held to cel­e­brate spring and bring more peo­ple into the vil­lage. It also serves as Greer­ton Vil­lage School’s fundrais­ing gala. The fes­ti­val is on Chad­wick Rd and at Greer­ton Vil­lage School.

The street car showwill be a huge draw card­with over 100 street ma­chines and cus­tom cars parked in Chad­wick Rd for en­thu­si­asts to check out.

Greer­ton Vil­lage Com­mu­nity As­so­ci­a­tion man­ager Sally Ben­ning says there is heaps to check out this year in­clud­ing Al Daw­son Band play­ing in the Vil­lage Square from 10am, rock and roll dancers en­ter­tain­ing and rov­ing en­ter­tain­ers.

On of­fer in the school grounds is a va­ri­ety of stalls, games and food items for sale, rides, jeeps, bouncy cas­tle and Cir­cus in a Flash work­shop. Raf­fleswill be held. En­ter­tain­ment will be held through­out the day on the ro­tunda by lo­cal school chil­dren and The Singing Cow­boy.
