Blossom Festival in bloom
Spring’s arrival prompts the beautiful cherry blossom trees in bloom which can be seen throughout the city.
But nowhere are the pink blooms more prominent than lining the streets in Greerton.
Each year, Greerton Village holds its flagship event, the Cherry Blossom Festival, bringing thousands into the quaint village shopping centre.
The festival is held to celebrate spring and bring more people into the village. It also serves as Greerton Village School’s fundraising gala. The festival is on Chadwick Rd and at Greerton Village School.
The street car showwill be a huge draw cardwith over 100 street machines and custom cars parked in Chadwick Rd for enthusiasts to check out.
Greerton Village Community Association manager Sally Benning says there is heaps to check out this year including Al Dawson Band playing in the Village Square from 10am, rock and roll dancers entertaining and roving entertainers.
On offer in the school grounds is a variety of stalls, games and food items for sale, rides, jeeps, bouncy castle and Circus in a Flash workshop. Raffleswill be held. Entertainment will be held throughout the day on the rotunda by local school children and The Singing Cowboy.
