At the Arts Junc­tion we are sell­ing tick­ets for the Bay of Plenty Gar­den and Art Fes­ti­val which is on 15th - 18th Novem­ber.

Jacquie El­lis, Artist, was born in Auck­land and is now re­sid­ing in the Karanga­hake Gorge. Jacquie has been paint­ing since the mid-1990s and is par­tic­u­larly noted for her re­al­is­tic de­pic­tions of na­ture in her breath-tak­ing land­scapes and seascapes, es­pe­cially of scenes around the Coro­man­del Penin­sula. Jacquie is hold­ing a sole ex­hi­bi­tion of her paint­ings in Katikati this month. Date: 8 - 22 Oc­to­ber 2018.

Con­cert Band Week­end Con­cert Mem­bers of the NZ Con­cert Band As­so­ci­a­tion are in Katikati with Mu­si­cal Di­rec­tor Chad Daven­port and will be pre­sent­ing a con­cert in­clud­ing works by Bizet, Vaughn Wil­liams and Irv­ing Ber­lin. Ad­mis­sion is free (gold coin do­na­tion ap­pre­ci­ated).

The NZ Mu­ral Con­test & Arts Fes­ti­val is get­ting un­der­way by look­ing for en­trants in the sculp­ture com­pe­ti­tion. There are two cat­e­gories, the open cat­e­gory has a cash prize of $1000 and the themed cat­e­gory ‘Life is not what it seems’ has a cash prize of $4000.
