Update pest control

Update your pest control arsenal. Makesure you have nets for strawberries and fruit trees, and a spray to control blight on tomatoes, potatoes, eggplants and peppers.

Sort garden rubbish

Divide your garden rubbish into small, manageable piles for burning. You won’t have to spend all day supervising a fire and your neighbours won’t suffer asmuch either.

Fertilise veges

As vegetable plants start tomake rapid growth, apply a dressing of soluble fertiliser.

Fuchsias are back

Keep up with flower fashions— fuchsias are back in style. They’re in the garden centresnowand irresistible. Plant in semi-shade. Kiwis love entertaining outdoors.

Many new homes these days have lovely “Loggias” or covered outdoor living spaces as an extension of the house.

We can add pergolas, courtyards, decks and patio areas off existing living rooms to give the impression of additional living areas and dress these up
