Robb Henry – Robb's been a Coastguard Waiheke volunteer for 24 years. He's a Rescue Vessel Senior Master, a Regional Instructor and holds an ISC for the region's training vessels.
Nicola Hockley – joined Coastguard Canterbury in 2009, and has been involved in nearly every area of the organisation. She is a Master on her CRV with an ISC Master Certificate. She's a Regional Coastguard Instructor. Coastguard Unit of the Year – Coastguard Nelson Solid training, recruitment, retention and financial best practice have seen the unit flourish. Its new management structure has turned around an average financial balance and a dwindling membership, which was down to five or six key volunteers. Today the unit has quadrupled its financial bottom line and boasts over 20 dedicated volunteers. Coastguard Community Relations Activity of the Year – Coastguard Nelson – Tasman Bay Snapper Classic and the Boulder Bank Walk The Tasman Bay Snapper Classic and the Boulder Bank Walk are two community events with which Coastguard Nelson were heavily involved. Both events raised Coastguard Nelson's profile within the community, promoted key water safety messages, increased membership, and raised $12,000 in vital funds. Coastguard Unit Support Volunteer of the Year – Mathew Hickey – Coastguard Taranaki Mathew has has 415 volunteer hours under his belt so far this year. Mathew was tasked with the major project of integrating the unit into the MOSS regime.
Coastguard Communication and Incident Management Volunteer of Year – Nick Sears – Coastguard Canterbury Nick has dedicated 14 years to Coastguard Canterbury. He is a Coastguard Instructor providing training, mentoring and coaching to volunteers and is a Duty Officer for the region's radio communications.
