Tips for Enjoying the Big Day
The much-anticipated day has finally arrived and all the preparations are behind you. Now it’s time to marry the love of your life and enjoy the celebrations with your nearest and dearest. Here are our top tips for making the most of your wedding day…

Start the day on a good note with a hearty breakfast. Depending on the time of the wedding, you may not get to eat another meal until after the ceremony and you don’t want your tummy to start rumbling at the altar! Later in the day, keep hunger pangs at bay by having a picnic basket of nibbles for the wedding party to snack on during the photo session.
Make sure everything is ready the day before the wedding so you can relax and enjoy getting ready on the day. With all the hard work done, you’ll be able to savour this special time with your close family and friends. It’s a good idea for the guys to meet up and get ready together to ensure everyone is looking as they should. Meanwhile, the girls will be having their hair and makeup done. The chief bridesmaid should remember not to leave the house without a beauty kit – containing lipstick, bobby pins, tissues, safety pins and a compact mirror – so you can all stay looking gorgeous throughout the day.
Have a realistic time schedule so you’re not rushing at any point in the day. Ask one of your wedding party to be a time keeper, then you won’t have to worry about watching the clock. Delegate any last-minute tasks to trusted friends or relatives to ensure you can relax and stay on schedule.
On the day, try not to sweat the small stuff. At any event there may be a hiccup or two (usually small, thankfully!), so keep your sense of humour and stay focused on the reason for the celebration. If you’re nervous about your speech, first dance or walking up the aisle, steady yourself with a few deep breaths and remember that you’re amongst friends who are there to support you.
Time flies when you’re having fun and your wedding day is certainly no exception. At several points in the day, take a few minutes to have a quiet moment together and soak up the atmosphere. Above all, live in the moment and enjoy your special day!
