Jessie & Jonty

Bride & Groom - - CONTENTS -

Jessie and Jonty pledged their love and commitment to each other in a gorgeous wedding with a rustic bohemian theme. Jessie tells us more…

Our wedding was a team effort; my dad helped to craft our signage, my bridesmaids helped to create our decorations, and Jonty, his groomsmen and parents set everything up with the assistance of Casey from The Heirloom.

Jonty and I exchanged vows that we had written for each other, with tears of joy and laughter. We then joined our guests for a picnic-style afternoon tea.

While we were having our photos, our guests were entertained with games of cricket, giant Jenga and tennis; and inside they could take selfies with a Polaroid camera, which were then pegged up on string with a message for us.

At our reception the white-washed tables were dressed with burlap runners, glass goblets, coloured bottles with loosely arranged wild flowers and individually named and tie-dyed place settings. Gold cutlery and candelabras gave a romantic feel to it all, along with light bulb pendants made by Jonty.

We shared a feast of rustic-style spitroasted meats and salad, followed by speeches, the cake and wine. Dessert was a self-service ice-cream bar with homemade toppings. An old ice-filled bathtub kept guests’ drinks cool while we danced the night away under the stars.
