Dannevirke celebrates junior netball
Dannevirke Netball’s second set of junior grading games was a celebration of all that is good in the sport.
On Saturday morning, May 12 the netball courts by the Sports Stadium were full of netballers and their families as four grading games were run at a time with military precision every 20 minutes.
The weather stayed dry and the school-based teams were all kitted out in colourful uniforms, games being cheered on by coaches, parents and grandparents.
This year there are 16 junior teams of Year 5-8 players in the A-C grades and 14 Future Fern teams composed from Year 1-4 players who will train and play in a four-on-four competition (Year 1-2) and a five-on-five (Year 3-4).
Junior netball games started on Saturday, May 19.
Meanwhile, senior netball starts on Wednesday nights from 6pm May 23. There are 10 teams.
