Norsewood Golf Club hosted the annual Coronation Cup Golf Tournament for 2018 on May 20 in fine but windy conditions.

Four local clubs Norsewood, Cape Turnagain, Dannevirke and Pongaroa field teams of 12 in match play and this year Pongaroa won it in a close battle from Dannevirke.

After games in the morning Pongaroa had to win only one of its matches against Norsewood in the afternoon to win the trophy but when the teams finished the first nine holes all of the matches had Norsewood ahead. Fortunately for Pongaroa in the final nine two of its team won matches to finish in front.

Three players won all their three matches — M Martin, T Henricksen and B White.

Golfers tee off the elevated 18th tee at Norsewood.

Gareth Martin of Pongaroa rolls in his putt on the second green.

Gavin Cook of Cape Turnagain chips into the second green.

Mark Rosacker of Norsewood Club winds up on the third tee.
