Lions pull out of running Takapau FUN Challenge
The Norsewood and Takapau Lions Clubs say have withdraw from hosting the Norsewood to Takapau FUN Challenge this year and in the future.
The clubs say they have enjoyed running the event over the years and thanked everyone in the community for the support shown for the event and the clubs.
The clubs say they feel that it is time to take a step back and will be looking to hand over the event to any interested groups to continue what has been a very successful event during its 12-year history.
What started out as a social get together between the neighbouring clubs quickly developed into an annual fundraiser and lasting partnership enabling the Lions clubs to raise and distribute funds within their local communities of approximately $20,000.
The clubs say they are committed to continuing their work in supporting the community and will be looking to undertake new ventures, the clubs say.
Expressions of interest are welcomed from any interested parties to continue the event in the Lions’ absence.
