Pahiatua to lose its Westpac ATM
Westpac ATM in Pahiatua will be removed later this month.
“This is after a regular review of our network which looked at several factors, including the number of people using each ATM and the age of each machine,” , says Heather Shiels, senior manager, external relations HR and corporate affairs at Westpac Bank.
“Our Westpac customers are able to use our nearby branch to make overthe-counter transactions,” she said.
“We have also recently dropped the fee charged to Westpac NZ customers who use other major bank ATMs. This change means our customers can now use more than 2400 ATMs nationwide to make cash withdrawals — four times as many as before — without incurring a fee when using their Westpac NZ EFTPOS or Debit card. There are two other ATMs within 250m of the Westpac ATM which our customers are able to use.
“We are also continually investing in new and improved online and mobile banking solutions in response to customer demand,” she said.
She was asked if the bank would consider setting up an ATM in Eketa¯ huna due to the closure of the credit exchange.
“We are aware Westpac has no plans to put an ATM into Eketa¯ huna,” Will Hine, Westpac NZ media relations manager said.
The Westpac ATM in Pahiatua will be removed at the end of this month.
