Dannevirke Junior Rugby is trialling joining the Under 13 teams in the Bay Wide Junior Competition on Saturdays over the next few weeks.

Last week Dannevirke teams travelled away to the Hawke’s Bay, but this week Hawke’s Bay teams travelled to Waipukurau and Dannevirke.

The games are really a test to see if teams can be matched and results reflected this.

Dannevirke’s Combined team was beaten heavily by Hastings Rugby and Sports, Ruahine St Joseph’s Under 13s beat Napier Old Boys Marist Under 12s by a similar margin and Dannevirke South School lost by a try against Hereworth School in an allunder 13 affair.

Sixteen teams play currently in the Bay Wide competition and should Dannevirke and Central join there would be a total of 21.

CLOSE quarter stuff in the game between Napier Old Boys Marist and Ruahine St Joseph’s.

THOMAS Barrow leads the charge for Ruahine-St Jo’s against Napier Old Boys Marist Under 12s.

WHERE did the ball go in the lineout? Evenly matched Under 13 teams Hereworth Boys and South School fought out a close game in the drizzle.
