Car crashes and bur­glar­ies in the re­gion

Norsewood/Dan­nevirke/ Pon­garoa:

On Fri­day 5 Oc­to­ber Dan­nevirke Po­lice at­tended a two-car mo­tor ve­hi­cle ac­ci­dent on Cole and High Streets Dan­nevirke. One oc­cu­pant re­ceived a hand in­jury.

On Fri­day 5 Oc­to­ber Tararua po­lice at­tended a fa­tal mo­tor ve­hi­cle ac­ci­dent on the Sad­dle Road Woodville.

Four other peo­ple re­ceived se­ri­ous in­juries.

On Satur­day 6 Oc­to­ber a ve­hi­cle trav­el­ling on Cole Street Dan­nevirke hit a power pole. The wires fell and the road was closed for a short while. It is be­lieved the driver was un­der the in­flu­ence of al­co­hol at the time.

On Sun­day 7 Oc­to­ber Dan­nevirke Po­lice at­tended an in­ci­dent where a firearm was pre­sented. Every­one in­volved were known to each other and one male has been ar­rested.

Dan­nevirke po­lice at­tended five do­mes­tic vi­o­lence-re­lated in­ci­dents dur­ing the week and one per­son was ar­rested and charged with breach­ing a pro­tec­tion or­der.

Eketa¯ huna/Pahiatua/ Woodville:

On Oc­to­ber 3 there was a bur­glary at a home on Tui Street, Pahiatua. Small elec­tri­cal items and food were stolen.

At 12.30am on Oc­to­ber 4 Pahiatua po­lice at­tended a sin­gle ve­hi­cle ac­ci­dent on SH2 just north of town.

It is sus­pected the driver was un­der the in­flu­ence of al­co­hol at the time of the ac­ci­dent.

At about 1am on Oc­to­ber 4 Pukaha Mt Bruce Wildlife Cen­tre was bro­ken into and elec­tri­cal equip­ment stolen.

Be­tween Oc­to­ber 7-8 there were three re­ported ru­ral bur­glar­ies around Eketa¯ huna. Po­lice are fol­low­ing good leads on the iden­tity of the of­fend­ers.

Pahiatua po­lice at­tended three do­mes­tic vi­o­lence-re­lated in­ci­dents dur­ing the week.

Take pre­cau­tions to make life dif­fi­cult for would-be bur­glars.
