Travel documentary showcases Tararua
Whatever youore doing this weekend you wonot want to miss watching the pRV Explorers Chasing 100 Sunsets documentary on Choice TV.
Filmed in Tararua, the documentary is one of a series of six that have been filmed around New Zealand.
An initiative sponsored by the NZ Motor Caravan Association (NZMCA) and produced by Spot On Publications, the series follows an Auckland couple as they travel New Zealand in a motorhome.
The programme was filmed over four days and follows them as they travel the district visiting many of our towns and popular visitor spots, such as the Tui Brewery, Pahiatua, Pukaha Mt Bruce National Wildlife Centre, Pongaroa, Akitio, Waihi Falls, Dannevirke and Woodville before they conclude their trip with a visit to Norsewood.
Tararua District Council, economic development and communications manager, Mark Maxwell says, for some time there has been a noticeable increase in motorhome visitors.
pFor me this a great opportunity to grow this market and showcase the benefits of getting off the beaten track in Tararua.
Mr Maxwell says council worked closely with the producers to develop their itinerary, which included visiting many popular visitor spots and provided the opportunity to meet with a number of the locals.
pThey certainly packed a lot into the four days they were here, he said.
The programme will screen on Saturday 10th November on Choice TV at 1.30pm and will be available later on Choice on Demand.
