Making life easier with on Farm Services

Bush Telegraph - - TRADES & SERVICES -

Bruce Hutchins is a local, born and brought up in Woodville area.

Since returning to Tararua in early May he has built up a good base of clientele for his On Farm Services. This time of the year crutching sheep is a major focus, he says.

“Crutching to prevent flystrike is important in the warmer months, especially if the sheep have dags. Pre-shear crutching eliminates pen stain on the wool, when sheep are penned prior to shearing.

“The advantage of using a crutching trailer is that the sheep can be done wet and full, so the day you have booked is the day they are done.

“The set-up of the Hecton crutching trailer allows me to do bellies as well as dags, good for fattened lambs and getting the premium at the works.”

Other services are new or repaired fencing.

“I build strong stock proof fences that last for years. I also build and repair, cattle and sheep yards and I also do other repairs and maintenance required around the farm. With my years of stock management experience I am confident managing farms for short periods for farmers who want to get away for a break.

“I offer a service of reliability, hard work, honesty and quality.
