Stellar football season

Team Hatrix from the Cambridge Football Club wrapped up a stellar season of football.

They became the 11th Grade gold medallists at the McCartney Invitation Tournament in Taupo.

The team faced fierce competition from teams including Papakura, Bucklands Beach, Hibiscus Coast, and Karori.

Hatrix advanced through the round robin competition undefeated, with four convincing wins and two hard fought games which resulted in ties.

The final game against the Wellington Phoenix Academy team which determined the title was a real nail biter but Hatrix held on to become overall winners.

First position on the leader board has been a familiar sight for the team this year after winning Waikato Junior Football 11th Grade Preliminary and Championship rounds.

The team was coached by Simon Foy.

It included players: Kent Vega, Declan Schagen; Angus Foy; Tipene Keenan; Connor Cloete; Keaton Budd; Charlie Holloway; Christian Pearson; Cameron O’Leary; Lucius Bates; Blake Allison; Luke O’Brien; Braedon Hills and Manaia Elliott.
