People are making their last minute calculations and decisions on who to vote for at this year’s general election. With just a few days left until polling day, it’s important to be armed with as much information on the candidates and their party policies as possible so you can make an informed decision. The candidates we spoke to for the Taupo and Waikato electorates tell us it’s been a challenging but rewarding campaign trail. Voters will be looking to see if anyone has come forward to challenge incumbent National MP Louise Upston or whether in fact anyone can name the other three candidates in that electorate’s race? In the Waikato electorate, MP Lindsay Tisch is stepping down and voters there will elect a new face to represent them. Tim van de Molen is National’s candidate with Labour putting up lawyer Brooke Loader, Tamahere woman and former editor Philippa Stevenson is campaigning for the Green Party and regional councillors Stu Husband for New Zealand First. Vote wisely, but do vote.
