Both were entered in the children’s category.
2017 was the first year she has entered the Aotearoa New Zealand category.
She started her wearable art career at a Fieldays contest years ago, but then she went to see WOW in 2012 with her sister and sister-in-law.
‘‘They said I should design a dress for it.
‘‘So all three of us entered, and we all got something in to the finals,’’ Vanin said. Since then, she’s been hooked. ‘‘The best time to work on it is when the kids are in bed, so there are a lot of late nights.’’
WOW runs until October 8 in Wellington
