The general election is over but we’re still waiting for Mr Peters to make up his mind. Did you vote for Winston or NZ First? Are you tired of waiting for a decision to be made over the composition of our government for the next three years? We’d love to hear your thoughts for our Conversations page. On to themes more close to home, road safety. You would have read reporter Emma James’s story on the series of car crashes between Cambridge and Morrinsville late last week. Incredibly, a nearby property owner believes drivers ignored signs warning of the new road seal there and did not reduce their speed. Three crashes in the same spot in under 12 hours was the result. We also have Phillipa Yalden’s story on the fatal crash on Scott Rd in Leamington recently, and how neighbours came out to help the victim, and help retain the offending driver before police were able to take over. As summer looms and we head away on holidays, let’s try to think more about keeping ourselves and others safe on the roads.
