‘‘Bird has worked on

An award-win­ning vo­cal­ist with a pen­chant for mu­si­cal the­atre will be the MC at Mu­sic Moves Me Trust’s lat­est event.

Luke Bird, a trained comedic ac­tor and opera singer, is known for his an­i­mated char­ac­ter work and his role in the 2014 mu­si­cal Hair­spray at Skyc­ity The­atre.

He has per­formed with opera sen­sa­tions Ben Mak­isi, Lilia Carpinelli, Dame Malv­ina Ma­jor and Dame He­len Med­lyn.

Bird has worked on Beauty and the Beast, Jekyll and Hyde the Mu­si­cal, The Full Monty and Cabaret, and will per­form at Takapoto Es­tate on March 24.

The event, called A Cel­e­bra­tion of the Senses will be an evening of mu­sic, art, wine and food, all in­cor­po­rat­ing the senses of touch, taste, smell, sound and sight.

Held at Takapoto Es­tate, a sprawl­ing site in Maun­gatau­tari, A Cel­e­bra­tion of the Senses of­fers live en­ter­tain­ment, bar ser­vice and canape´s, an art ex­hi­bi­tion and an eques­trian dis­play.

The Hamil­ton-based Mu­sic Moves Me Trust of­fers in­ter­ac­tive mu­sic and mu­sic ther­apy to peo­ple liv­ing with de­men­tia.

All money raised from the event goes di­rectly into pay­ing the wages of the trust’s mu­sic ther­a­pists.
