The annual RSX national windsurfing championships saw Beijing Olympic representatives Tom Ashley and Barbara Kendall dominate at Takapuna Beach over the weekend.

Ashley won four of his nine races, while Kendall scored five victories from eight.

The field had an international feel to it with competitors from France, Germany, Italy and the Netherlands.

But the action has only just begun for windsurfing fans in the Auckland region, with the RSX world championships for men and women starting in Takapuna on January 13.

Final positions for the Olympics are also up for grabs at next month’s event.
