Call out for Eden artworks

Central Leader - - News -

Artists in Eden have provided hundreds of pieces of work to the Mt Eden community over the past 21 years.

Now the group wants to see how much of it they can get back.

Artists in Eden are dedicated to promoting and encouraging local art.

Members meet each year to paint images symbolic of Mt Eden before auctioning them off to raise money for local art projects.

They are holding a retrospective exhibition in October to celebrate their 21st anniversary and want to try to find as many past pieces as possible to display.

Organiser Sue Gardiner says the idea of the exhibition is to re- flect the changing history of both the event and the Mt Eden community through the artworks.

She estimates as many as 600 pieces have been created over the years.

If you have bought an artwork at an Artists in Eden event, please contact Sue as soon as possible by emailing or phone 021-062-8799.
