Pool prices

Central Leader - - Letters -

I just wanted to say that I think that admission to the pools should be cheaper (Central Leader, August 6).

When I lived in Switzerland my health insurance scheme paid for half of my annual swimming pool and gym subscriptions.

Their logic in doing this was that it is cheaper to keep people healthy than pay for ailments.

As the man in the article also mentioned it is a social event too with friendships being made at the pools. Being happy is also an important ingredient in being healthy.

I just wish that people could think more laterally. By filling the pools with people paying a lower admission rather than having fewer people going would surely solve their dilemma. KIRI KNOWLES
