Staff and customers were left shaken after two men, one brandishing a firearm, robbed the ASB Bank in Three Kings on Monday morning.

Detective sergeant Geoff Baber says the offenders entered the bank at 11.45am and demanded money, which was handed over by tellers.

They fled with an undisclosed amount of cash in a stolen black Subaru Forester, number plate EJP105, which police were yesterday still searching for.

Mr Baber says several members of the public were in the bank during the robbery.

“They are quite disturbed and traumatised.”

Police are speaking to witnesses and will do a forensic examination of the scene.

The offenders, who are described as Maori or Pacific Island, were heavily disguised and police will be viewing video footage of the incident in an effort to identify them.
